Job Description:
Established and continuing to grow, North Shore Multi Family
Real Estate Investment Company has an exciting opportunity for a
fast paced, hands-on and team oriented Controller. Position
requires 1-3 days per week in the office. The Controller will work
in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment requiring the ability
to multi-task and work across multiple facets of the business.
-This person will work closely with senior leadership and be
responsible for day-to-day oversight of all accounting functions
and financial analysis. -Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and coordinate all
accounting functions. Evaluate accounting and internal control
systemsAssess current accounting operations, offering
recommendations for improvement and implementation of new
processes, policies, and proceduresManage all aspects of the
general ledger chart of accounts for multiple entitiesBuild out
process and systems to provide best-in-class real estate and
accounting reporting.Hire, train, supervise, and retain a superior
Accounting teamOversee bank reconciliations of operating,
collection, security, and escrow accountsManage and oversee cash
position of all entitiesOversee development and construction
draws/requests, including segregation of soft and hard costs for
each construction drawOversee and review all invoices, lien
waivers, and AIA documentation to match the draw requests and
tracking schedules draws on a monthly basisGather documents for
year-end Corporate tax returnsCoordinate activities of external tax
accountants and auditorsCoordinate and prepare internal and
external financial statementsOversee employee authorization on
Company's vendor credit accountOversee balance sheet
reconciliationsReconcile general ledger, relative to budget and
completion costs to dateSupport and manage treasury functions
including investor distributionsRequirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or
Finance, CPA/MBA is a plus10+ years of experience showing
increasing responsibility in Real Estate and Construction
AccountingStrong written and verbal communications skillsExcellent
analytical and quantitative skillsSuperior management skillsHighly
organized with developed and practiced attention to detailSuperior
ability to track and meet deadlinesHigh level of computer skills
including extensive experience with Yardi accounting system and
Excel, and solid knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and WordA strong
work ethic with a positive attitude focused on overcoming obstacles
and accomplishing workAbility to excel under pressure in a
