Chandler-Newberger Center Description:
The City of Evanston Gymnastics Program is run out of the Chandler-Newberger Center located at 1028 Central Street in Evanston. Classes are offered for children ages 18 months through 13 years, levels preschool through advanced. Hours are flexible.

Job Summary:
Gymnastics Instructors are responsible for coaching and supervising children during gymnastics classes and camps. Opportunities to coach private lessons, as well as birthday parties are available.

Tasks: Attend staff training sessions
Assist with program set up as needed
Instruct and facilitate program activities for participants
Responsible for the safety of individuals in classes and camps
Responsible for effective and appropriate communication to caregivers
Reporting participant progress and behavior within program setting to parents/Supervisor
Attend staff meetings as scheduled
Ensure all participants are properly dismissed to caregiver
Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and storage areas
Complete written reports such as accident, incident and the like on a timely basis
Communicate to supervisor(s) if there are problems or issues needing special attention.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or Program coordinator

Qualifications: Previous experience in gymnastics, dance, or tumbling
Previous experience working with children
Supervision:
This position reports to the Chandler-Newberger Program Coordinator and Recreation Manager.

Rate:
Starting at $17.05/hour

Schedule:

Varies by season. Typically weekday evenings and/or weekends
