looking for warm, enthusiastic, and patient individuals interested
in being summer camp counselors for children with special needs.
Counselors are individuals looking to develop career-building
skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving and
relationship management abilities. If you are looking for a way to
create exciting experiences and heartwarming memories that last a
lifetime, gain valuable career-building skills and be able to spend
your summer. Duties: Supervision and safety: Actively monitoring
campers during all activities including mealtimes, ensuring
compliance with safety protocols, and responding to any accidents
or emergencies. Group management: Maintaining order and positive
group dynamics, resolving minor conflicts, and providing guidance
to campers. Communication: Regularly updating Site Supervisor on
camper progress, addressing concerns, and maintaining open
communication. Recordkeeping: Maintaining attendance logs, activity
reports, and documenting incidents and behaviors Staff
collaboration: Working effectively with other counselors and camp
staff to deliver a cohesive program and a positive and inclusive
camp environment Requirements: Desirable Experience: Enjoys being
in the company of children specifically with special needs Ability
to participate in active outdoor and indoor activities and
supervise children in a variety of settings Ability to educate and
mentor campers in a fun and engaging manner Ability to work
independently and with others Problem solver Communicate clearly
with coworkers and campers, provide feedback, and address concerns
to supervisors Patience and positive attitude and the ability to
manage challenging situations with children and maintain a positive
demeanor First aid knowledge basic understanding of first aid
procedures to respond to minor injuries Requirements: Must be at
least 16 years old Ability to pass a background check First Aid and
