Summary / Role Purpose

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to engineer innovative solutions in the domain of Functional Safety. As a hands-on subject matter expert, you will provide expert pre-sales support and professional services in the critical growth area of functional safety in different industrial domains (e.g. automotive, aerospace, defense, semi-conductors). As a member of a world class functional safety organization, you will help to create safe system designs in the ever more complex, connected, and autonomous automotive and aerospace world.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, product demonstrations and evaluations. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Lead project teams to create differentiating Functional Safety solutions using Ansys medini analyze; deploy the solutions within customers' design workflows
• Mentor junior engineers
• Interact with customers to understand their product design needs and functional safety workflows; analyze how to address customers' requirements using the leading functional safety support tool Ansys medini analyze, articulate Ansys' value proposition
• Consult and advise clients on system implementation while following applicable safety, quality and cybersecurity standards. This includes consulting on development of safety cases, safety plans, guidance on processes while utilizing Ansys medini analyze
• Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features; test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems, develop application best practices
• Support Ansys field and digital marketing; author conference presentations
• Contribute to consulting services; conduct introductory and/or intermediate training classes Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Embedded System Development, Automotive or Aerospace Systems Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Subject matter expert in functional safety
  • Knowledge in industry safety standards such as ISO 26262, SAE ARP4761, IEC 61508
  • Knowledge of analysis techniques such as FMEA/ FTA/ FMEDA/ HAZOP/ DFA
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time Preferred Qualifications and Skills
    • Ph.D or Master's degree
    • 5 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
    • Certified automotive functional safety professional or similar certification
    • Experience in model-based design techniques (UML/SysML, Matlab/Simulink or others) and MBSE
    • Knowledge of Ansys medini analyze or another commercial functional safety software
    • Experience in applying tools and technologies for the development, design and analysis (e.g. FMEA/FTA/FMEDA/HAZOP, Validation and Verification, HIL/SIL/MIL, )
    • Experience in Cybersecurity analysis and related standards like ISO 21434, DO-356A
    • Knowledge in scripting languages like Javascript, Python or similar CULTURE AND VALUES
