The nurse manager will be responsible for creating an environment of patient focused care, defining standards for patient care, manage and develop work-based teams for assigned shifts. The nurse manager will assist in training new staff and provide leadership to our nursing team. The nurse manager will report directly to the Associate Director of Nursing and assist in clinical supervisions. How you will make an impact: The nurse manager will have a hybrid position of 80% working with their direct reports, providing 1:1 supervision, payroll, and set work schedules. This position also requires the nurse manager to work up to 30% in the clinic as needed. In conjunction with the Director of Nursing, and the Associate Director of Nursing, will help recruit, select, and guide the nursing staff. The nurse manager should be adept at coordinating resources and personnel while meeting the organizations goals and objectives. The nurse manager will help maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors, ensuring standards and quality of care. The nurse manager will ensure that the nursing staff remains in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards. The nurse manager works closely with the Clinical Nurse Leads to help mentor and educate the nursing staff. The nurse manager will participate in the monthly manager meetings and other committees as assigned. Will follow role assignments that are in alignment with the Patient Centered Medical Home Standards, and participate in all Patient Centered Medical Home efforts. Evaluate patients ability to understand health plans, perform health education, and notify appropriate staff as needed. Provide nursing care and education to patients, their significant others, and staff in a compassionate manner. The nurse manager will perform all clinical functions within the scope of nursing, and provide treatments based upon the Standard Orders Guidelines. Maintain accurate and necessary patient documentation in accordance with all regulatory bodies. Apply human relation skills and customer service skills in providing patient care and in establishing good rapport. Execute Phone Triage responsibilities: performs a systematic, comprehensive interview of the caller/patient to determine the urgency of the patients problem. Accurately documents data for all calls including, but not limited to, patients demographic information, chief complaint, recommendations for home treatment, and referrals to primary care provider, or emergency services. Performs and documents follow-up calls with patients as necessary to help ensure positive outcomes. Provides counseling, home treatment advice, and crisis intervention according to established protocols and standards of care. Maintain clinical competency through continuing education, recertification (including CPR), and clinical practice. Adhere to Howard Brown Human Resources Policies and Procedures. Actively participates in fulfillment of organizations mission, vision, and core values. Adhere to OSHA standards in delivery of care to all patients. Participate in Quality Improvement process via data collection, evaluation of results, and implementation of recommendations. Perform other duties as directed.What you will bring to Howard Brown Health: Minimum Qualifications: Nursing degree (BSN or Associates) PLUS current Illinois nursing license required; 1 to 2 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting is preferred. Bilingual speaking preferred Current RN License in the state of Illinois 3-5 years of nursing experience Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Able to work efficiently under time restraints Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with a large team Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously Knowledge and experience working with multi-ethnic, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender queer clients population is preferred WORKING CONDITIONS: Conditions are pleasant, and with a collegial environment.
