This position is located in Evanston, Illinois.The Alternatives to
Violence (ATV) Manager is a member of the domestic violence
leadership team and oversees partner abuse intervention programs
that focus on altering the behavior of perpetrators of domestic
violence and increasing the opportunity for survivors to achieve
safe and stable lives. The manager will grow program offerings
beyond existing limited support groups to a robust array of
supportive services and expand referral pipelines to increase
service access and utilization. The position develops and
implements strategies that align with department goals; provides
direct services to program participants, including case management,
counseling, and psychoeducational support group facilitation;
manages daily activities and operations to high operational
standards; solicits and offers input on agency policies, department
priorities, and procedures; and expands programs through targeted
community outreach.The manager is a motivated self-starter who

trauma-informed space for all.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILITIESDirect Service (35%)
- Ensures the delivery of all perpetrator intervention group and
individual services are carried out in accordance with best
practices in the field.
- Oversees groups and directly co-facilitates Alternatives to
Violence curriculum in a 26-week group session for male-identified
abusers and copies, assembles, and distributes all participant
materials.
- Conducts thorough intake and close-out of each client,
including assessing the history of abuse and eligibility for
participation in the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) and
administering all pre and post-surveys and assessments.
- Provides individual counseling to program participants during
and after their group participation.
- Regularly checks Alternatives to Violence phone line and
returns calls, schedules intakes, and provides information within
24 business hours.
- Refers participants who are not eligible for YWCA ATV to other
resources.
- Refers survivors contacted during the intake process to agency
domestic violence services.
- Maintains thorough client files, including completed intake
information, program attendance, payment information, and written
narratives as warranted.
- Maintains timely communication with court services personnel
and reports back client information as required.
- Collects appropriate client fees in accordance with agency
protocol.Program Management (30%)
- In collaboration with program leadership and input from direct
reports, develops long-term and annual plans that identify growth
goals and outcomes that ensure continuous quality improvement in
program operations and client experience.
- Assists in the review and updating of program and client
policies and procedures and related documentation.
- Manages payment process for all program participants including
collecting program fees, record-keeping, and ensuring fee deposit
to the YWCA
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices and trends in the
field and regularly reviews existing curriculum to implement
innovative improvements and ensure appropriate documentation.
- With the goal of increasing awareness and usage of services,
collaborates with the communications team to develop, implement,
and monitor communication and advertising strategies, develops
social media content and collateral materials, and provides timely
information as requested.Networking & Community Education (15%)
- Assists in guiding the development of targeted outreach and
education to increase referrals for service by partner
organizations and increase the utilization of services.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with area
referral sources, especially relevant court services and local
police departments, and regularly provides marketing
materials.
- Maintains a positive relationship with group host site and
ensures access to space and space clean up in accordance with host
site guidelines.
- Represents and speaks about the services of the organization to
community organizations.
- Participates in coalitions and committees to form collaborative
responses to domestic violence.
- Participates as a trainer in delivering domestic violence
training, including but not limited to the state-required 40-hour
domestic violence training program and other community-based
training on domestic violence.Continuous Quality Improvement (10%)
- Assists in the development and manages the implementation of a
comprehensive program evaluation process soliciting client feedback
and regularly reporting data to staff for review and program
improvement discussions; attends quality improvement meetings to
report out on planning and outcomes of clinical services
program.
- Manages the timely completion and submission of all reporting
and record keeping and implements an ongoing online file audit
process to ensure compliance with internal quality assurance and
funder guidelines.
- Reviews and monitors ongoing policies & procedures and ensures
alignment with best practices.
- Assists in developing the annual budget.
- Completes and submits in a timely fashion all necessary
reporting documentation.
- Reports on goals and objectives identified in government grants
and foundations as appropriate.Supervision (5%)
- Develops, motivates, and maintains a highly functioning team
that demonstrates positive morale and adheres to high standards of
service delivery.
- Hires a diverse staff in accordance with agency policies and
procedures and submits timely, accurate, and completed hiring
paperwork.
- Ensures new hires are on-boarded in accordance with agency
policies and procedures including, but not limited to, developing,
reviewing, and submitting new-hire work plans for those working 20
hours or more per week, and training on agency operations,
policies, procedures, and job responsibilities.
- Oversees the workflow and productivity of staff including, but
not limited to, maintaining accurate work schedules, reviewing and
approving timesheets and activity reports in a timely manner,
setting and regularly reviewing professional goals, expectations,
and accomplishments.
- Develops staff capacity and morale by providing regular
supervision and effective coaching including but not limited to
meeting individually with staff working 20 hours or more a week at
least twice a month and providing consistent and timely feedback to
those working less than 20 hours a week as determined by
performance needs, recognizing and recording staff accomplishments
and disciplinary issues
- Ensures all staff who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or
more hours a week receive a timely annual appraisal within 2 months
of their anniversary date and organizes and leads management
meetings at least four times per year.
- Controls personnel costs by monitoring weekly schedules, total
monthly hours worked, and controlling the use of overtime.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices in the field and
oversees ongoing professional development and required
certification of all staff, ensuring a commitment to high-quality,
innovative service delivery. Schedules trainings, maintains
attendance and completion documentation.
- Stays current with agency technology and its proper usage
including, but not limited to, taking the initiative to seek out
personal training opportunities, training direct reports on proper
usage, and ensuring staff maximize their efficiency with the use of
available technology.
- Acts as primary liaison between leadership and direct reports
and ensures timely, thorough, and effective organizational
communication so staff feel informed and aware of organizational
policies, practices, and procedures, and growth. Effectively
advocates for staff by regularly soliciting staff input and
representing staff needs and interest to agency leadership.
- Ensures all staff understand and adhere to all policies in the
Employee Handbook.ADDITIONAL DUTIES (5 %)
- As available, provides coverage for the 24-hour crisis line and
staffs the office of Mary Lou's Place, carrying out all operations
in accordance with protocol.
- Attends staff trainings and participates in agency committees
as requested.
- Pursues professional development.

procedures and policies as well as YWCA Employee Handbook.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Master's degree in Social Work,
Psychology, Counseling, or related field.Experience and/or
Training:
- At least 2-3 years of experience working with perpetrators or
those who cause harm
- A deep theoretical and practical understanding of the dynamics
of domestic violenceLicenses/Certificates:
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Successful completion of the Illinois 40-Hour Domestic Violence
Training Certificate within 3 months of employment
- Acquisition of the Certified PAIP Professional credential
within 12 months of employment
- First Aid/CPR within 6 months of employment

- Expert knowledge of the Illinois Protocol for Partner Abuse
Intervention Programs guidelines
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Experience producing written materials that meet professional
standards and are accessible to a diverse audience
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers
- Experience communicating with a wide audience of stakeholders
including donors, organizational partners, corporate partners,
residents, and other stakeholdersLanguage: Fluency in
Spanish.Licenses/Certificates:
