professional lives. Position Summary: The Associate Director, Data
Science is responsible for leading a team of data scientists that
build impactful AI/ML models and generate insights that transform
our business. As a leader, they should have expert knowledge in the
pharma/healthcare AI space and be attuned to where the industry is
heading. This role will leverage cutting edge data science
technologies and methods to help business leaders across the
company make appropriate data-driven decisions and optimize
activities. The Associate Director, Data Science will play a key
role in identifying opportunities for machine learning and will be
an advocate for the power of data science. The role involves the
full lifecycle from ideation to requirements elicitation, design,
implementation, and model rollout. The Associate Director, Data
Science will collaborate with other stakeholders across the
business to evaluate opportunities and drive growth for our brands.
Most importantly, this role will develop, inspire, and support
junior team members so they can reach their full
potential.Responsibilities:Lead, develop, and inspire junior team
members, both as direct and indirect reports, and train others on
using AI/ML within pharmaImplement and manage AI/ML models for use
cases such as sales lead generation/targeting, spend optimization,
segmentation, referral network analysis, customer churnContinually
advance the level of AI/ML sophistication the data science team
employs and ensure the use of cutting edge tools and approaches -
publish results in relevant journalsTriage and manage descriptive
analysis requests to offshore and/or consulting resourcesCreate
insightful visualizations and presentations that help non-technical
colleagues make sense of complex solutionsProactively identify
business opportunities for data science to solve unmet business
needsDevelop a deep understanding of available data sources,
including capture methodologies, business operations, and manage
appropriate data science solutions accordinglyFoster a
collaborative, positive and intellectually curious environment that
encourages everyone to deliver their best workQualifications
Required:BA/BS in Statistics, Operational Research, Computer
Science, physics, biology, or other quantitative disciplineAdvanced
degree in a relevant technical field preferred but not required5+
years of relevant data science experience with increasing
responsibilityDemonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop
junior data scientistsExperience with healthcare data, ideally in
the pharma space, highly preferredTrack record of innovating
through machine learning and statistical algorithms and their
applicationsSkills Required:Ability to manage multiple projects
with shifting priorities and deadlinesCapable of translating data
science into actionable insights and strategyExceptional problem
solving skills and a growth mindsetStrong communication skills
(verbal and written); proven ability to work cross functionally and
liaise across a complex set of stakeholdersProven experience with
the PyData stack, (Python, pandas, sci-kit learn) and distributed
computing technologies for machine learning, such as Apache Spark
