It is also an ideal place to enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest, being just one hour from the Oregon Coast, one hour from the Cascade Mountains, and less than two hours from Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.Position Summary: The Director for Student Life Operations reports to the Vice President for Student Development and assists with the daily operations of Student Life, including Beacon Beanery, Campus Ministry, Residence Life, Student Programs, Intramurals, Campus Dining, Student Conduct, Wellness Programs, Student Government/ASBU, and Security. Key duties involve administrative and technical functions such as managing the onsite Beacon Beanery, database oversight for Student Life operations, and supporting departmental communication and events. Effective interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Vice President in providing operational leadership for Student Life programs, services, and administrative functions.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Beacon Beanery, including:
  • Hiring, training, and supervising student staff
  • Collaborating with vendors for inventory and sales
  • Overseeing budgets and safety compliance
  • Develop and prepare reports, budgets, and research data as directed.
  • Plan and coordinate signature departmental events, including orientations and retreats.
  • Schedule meetings, make reservations, and maintain work schedules.
  • Prepare weekly communications and utilize Jenzabar for student data management.
  • Coordinate student welcome baskets and Student Life leadership hiring processes.
  • Maintain records, order supplies, and develop marketing materials.
  • Support office functions and supervise front desk and mailroom staff.
  • Attend meetings and perform related duties as assigned.Experience and Qualification Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in student affairs, leadership, business, or a related field, with at least four years of professional or para-professional experience in Student Life or office operations. Knowledge of planning, organization, leadership practices, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and database platforms are required. Experience in an academic or student affairs environment is highly desirable.
