Job Description Hourly Pay Range: $28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights: Position: Histology Technician Location: Evanston Hospital Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 11am-7:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays What you will do: Processing tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor Embedding: Manual and Automated using Sakura Auto TEK embedder Microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks both manual and auto embedded Recuts of tissue blocks Special Stains IF cryotomy of skin specimens What you will need: Education: Associate's or Bachelor's in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or Completed accredited Histology Technology program. Certification: HT/HTL Certificate (ASCP), equivalent or eligible. Experience: 1 year experience in Histology Laboratory preferred Unique or Preferred Skills: Ability to perform manual embedding and microtomy of paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
