lives.Position Summary: - Applies engineering principles,
problem-solving methodologies, and a collaborative attitude to
develop, implement, transfer, sustain, and improve interconnected
medical device systems and the associated Technical Service
strategies, processes, and offerings. - Represents Technical
Service on new product development, design transfer, and sustaining
engineering core teams. - Located in Northern Illinois (either
Round Lake or Deerfield), but works closely with geographically
dispersed teams and operations.Critical Responsibilities: -
Represents Technical Service on new product development and/or
lifecycle management teams. - Creates, reviews and approves service
deliverables throughout the product lifecycle for medical device
products/systems. - Works closely with cross-functional team
members to develop and launch medical device products/systems that
enable a service strategy and associated service offerings. Drives
and champions Design for Serviceability (DFS) and Design for
Service Revenue within product core teams. - Analyzes
product/system and operational metrics and data to identify
opportunities for improvement and creates robust business cases to
pursue them. - Identifies and solves complex problems without
assistance. Example projects include the development of new or
improved processes, tools, techniques and procedures. - Creates
global service plans for new product platform releases. Leads plan
implementation for service training, test equipment and tool
installation and validation, spare parts, and service
manuals/instructions. - Works closely with Marketing,
Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, R&D, and Global Service
Operations to achieve product line objectives. - Independently
plans, schedules, and leads cross-functional teams in detailed
phases of the engineering work in a project. - May
supervise/coordinate Engineers or Technicians on assigned work or
projects.Key Qualifications: - Well versed in core engineering
disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software, systems
engineering), design control methodologies, and configuration
management principles. - Firm understanding of GMP and quality
system requirements. - Able to work independently, collaborate with
multiple stakeholders, and effectively manage several priorities. -
Able to communicate clearly, tactfully, and effectively to all
levels in the organization, including senior management. - Able to
effectively operate in and facilitate cross-functional teams with
minimal guidance. - Able to provide solutions that reflect
understanding of business objectives and cost implications. - Able
and willing to travel both domestically and internationally
(10-20%).Education and/or Experience: - B.S. in Engineering
(Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems preferred,
Manufacturing/Industrial considered) and 5 - 8 years related
experience. Advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) a plus. - Medical device
or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred. -
Experience with digital products and IT/connectivity expertise
strongly preferred. ITIL certification is a plus. - Demonstrated
process optimization and analytical skills (e.g. Lean Six Sigma,
Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.The successful candidate for this
