We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Committee Lead at
UL Standards and Engagement.
The Technical Committee Lead is a multi-faceted position
responsible for a portfolio of UL and/or ULC Standards and will
lead the Standards Technical Committees (TC). This role will focus
on overcurrent protection, power distribution, industrial control,
electrical components, hazardous locations, and wiring devices. The
Technical Committee Lead will manage the day-to-day standards
activities for the assigned standards in accordance with policies
and procedures including the review of new proposals, review of
standards documents, other related documents, and facilitating
meetings. - .

What you'll learn & achieve:
As the Technical Committee Lead, you will play a key role in the
rapid growth of UL Standards and Engagement as you:
- Manage the day-to-day standards activities related to the
standards development process, including the review of new
proposals, review of standards documents, facilitating meetings,
and other related documents while maintaining effectively balanced
consensus bodies.
- Help build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
relative to assigned industries.
- Facilitate the development of consensus within the stakeholder
body by engaging all interests to identify solutions that have
broad support.
- Guide stakeholders, external chairs as appropriate, and
internal standards project managers through the standards
development process and provides expertise related to the standards
development process and general operating procedures.
- Mentor project managers in the fulfillment of their
responsibilities.
- Develop a working knowledge of the technical attributes,
function, and standards requirements of the products in the
assigned standards.
- Assist with the facilitation and implementation of the goals
and strategies related to the assigned standards.
- Assist in managing the assigned industries to accomplish
strategic and operational goals and in researching marketplace
issues within area of responsibility to identify current trends and
needs of stakeholders.
- Help drive the harmonization and adoption of safety
requirements across component and end-product standards.
- Drive the standards process to develop and maintain standards
that effectively mitigate identified hazards, that fully reflect
current technologies and current marketplace issues, and that are
developed with consideration of associated codes and
regulations.
- Report to the Program Manager in charge of the assigned
portfolio.
- Perform other duties as directed.

- Ability to perform job responsibilities under minimal
supervision. -
-Professional education and experience requirements for the role
include:
- University degree in applied science, physical science,
engineering, or other technology, or other related
discipline.
- Minimum of six years of directly related standards work
experience.
