Modis is currently seeking a Manager of Information Security for an exceptional Direct Placement opportunity with our Global Legal client, located in the heart of Downtown Chicago / Central Loop.
 
With offices in 50 countries across the world, our client is a proven leader in Corporate Legal Services, with a commitment to staying ahead of the game with the most cutting-edge cyber security and infrastructure technologies.   We are seeking top-notch managers who have strong hands-on skills in Network Infrastructure, Cyber Security and emerging technologies – WITH the addition of having prior experience in budgeting, strategic planning and people management.
 
Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Managing and coordinating all aspects of Information Security including governance, compliance, risk and auditing.
• Developing and maintain an understanding of the firm's business requirements as well as business workflow to implement and maintain a secure environment that allows for the most effective client-service delivery.
• Managing a medium-sized security team in the US, collaborating with the overseas Security teams as needed.
• Offering guidance, mentoring and education while ensuring that appropriate monitoring and controls are in place to maintain appropriate access levels.
• Develop, assessing and managing information security procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk to firm's assets.
• Staying current with emerging security risks and recommending appropriate measures to ensure compliance with laws, standards and policies.
• Staying current with bleeding edge information security technologies in order to recommend and implement effective policies, procedures and systems.
• Developing security education programs and conducting training in support of security awareness
• Managing the workflow and tasks performed by all levels of security administrators and engineers on the team.
• Developing and managing the security budget and advising on the appropriate security-related expenditures.
• Ensure that security environment is properly documented and kept up-to-date
• Managing security vendors and managed service offerings.
• Preparing and advising on security-related communications both internal and external to the firm.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field (required) with 7+ years in IT - REQUIRED
- Minimum of 3-5 years working in a hands-on Manager role, relating to information security & policy - REQUIRED
- Extensive knowledge of Information Security / Risk Management best practices relevant to a professional services environment. - REQUIRED
- Prior experience creating and managing security programs and procedures in a global environment involving various platforms and systems. - REQUIRED
- Exceptional hands-on skills in troubleshooting, investigating and problem solving security-related risks
- Expert knowledge in critical security protocols, domains, encryption, loss prevention, applications, mobility, remote access, etc.
- Extensive, practical knowledge in the information governance such as records management, compliance & data security and privacy
- A collaborative work style with experience interfacing with various global teams.
- Team-oriented leader with a collaborative nature, encouraging growth and the development of staff.
- Able to work flexible hours and manage team schedules effectively to ensure global coverage.
- Some travel (including international) required to manage global teams and participate in projects as needed.
