Job Description Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description As a Machine Operator, you will work on bag making lines, ensuring efficient machine operation and quality production. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting machinery, as well as troubleshooting any minor issues that arise. Responsibilities Load machinery with spools of paper and prepare rolls for production. Gather and set up print plates. Measure hot melt and gather necessary materials. Set up machinery based on specific orders and verify order details. Run the machine and address any jams or minor troubleshooting needs. Adjust machinery settings as necessary and perform changeovers. Check products for defects or errors and ensure quality standards are met. Package orders and wrap final products. Verify orders and pallets before shipment. Essential Skills Experience in manufacturing. Proficiency in machine operating or machine assistant roles. Experience with machine setups or changeovers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with paper, corrugated, packaging, bags, or cartons is a plus. Familiarity with FFG or die cutting lines is advantageous. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility is clean, well-organized, and in excellent condition. It operates multiple production lines and maintains a comfortable temperature—cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer. The work involves constant standing and walking for 12-hour shifts, with frequent lifting, carrying, and other physical activities. The machinery is used to produce paper bags and their handles. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.21 - $20.21/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
