Kelly Engineering Resources has a direct-hire opportunity for a skilled Compliance Engineer to join a growing industry leader in North Lake, IL!----The Regulatory Compliance Engineer will report directly into the Vice President of Engineering & Manufacturing and a dotted line into the Chief Executive Officer. This person will be responsible for coordinating and documenting internal regulatory processes, such as internal audits, inspections, license renewals or registrations.--Primary Responsibilities:

• Owner of Company's New Product Development Regulatory & Compliance Programs
• Leader of Company's In-Use & Current Production Regulatory & Compliance Procedures
• Company representative on ASTM Standards and PFCMA regulatory committees
• Develop and Implement Compliance Programs across organization, including all affiliates
• Support Company's Quality Control Programs by working with the Quality Manager and Manufacturing Teams A Liaison between Company and all regulatory agencies such as EPA, CARB, CPSC, CSA, etc---
• Lead and Manage Company's vendor relationships with compliance testing labs, including by not limited to the selection and sourcing of new laboratories.
• Analyze product complaints and make recommendations regarding their reportability.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies regarding pre-submission strategies, potential regulatory pathways, compliance test requirements, or clarification and follow up of submissions under review.
• Escort government inspectors during inspections and provide post-inspection follow up information as requested.
• Review product promotional materials, labeling, production records, specification sheets, or test methods for compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
• Obtain and distribute updated information regarding domestic or international laws, guidelines or standards.
• Participate in internal or external audits.
• Coordinate recall or market withdrawal activities as necessary if required--Minimum Requirements
  • BS or MS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, or relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience in science role (chemistry, environmental science), regulatory affairs, product stewardship, quality assurance, or compliance roles in the industrial, hazardous materials industries.
  • Basic understanding of EPA, CARB, ASTM and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Attention to detail and good record keeping skills
  • Ability to interface with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Effective database skills to support regulatory processing, including proficiency with Microsoft products --
  • 3 -5 years of industry experience regulatory, sustainability or product stewardship highly desired
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 12 hours per day)
