Product Manager, Luminaires & Performance Testing

Manager, Luminaires & Performance Testing is tasked with developing
the market approach strategy and product lifecycle roadmap for new
service line(s) within the AHL Lighting sub-segment. This role will
be responsible for the overall global go-to-market strategy
specifically for the Luminaire market segment and Performance
Testing service line and will work collaboratively across all
business functions necessary to launch and deliver the services
throughout the lifecycle. This includes working in continuous
coordination with Business Development, Engineering, Operations,
Quality Assurance, Sales, Marketing, Client Services and with
- Develop, champion and execute
new service strategies that ensure profitable growth that meets the
businesses’ desired goals.
- Own all product management
functions, including but not limited to; product mix assessment,
market share evaluation, competitive analysis, commercialization of
new concepts and market acceptance of new services.
Collaborate with and support
Business Development to ensure new product development remains on
time and on budget.
- Evaluate, advocate for and set
key product priorities in line with the business strategy and
- Define pricing & competitive
positioning based on various regional differentiators.
- Implement market research
strategies based on customer and market requirements that evaluate
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.
- Recommend new products for
development based on customer/market needs and business
- Implement the tools and
processes needed to define the go to market strategy and vision for
- Drive continuous improvement in
Product Management by examining internal processes and identifying
and executing on opportunities to streamline and create synergies
throughout the COU.
- Foster a culture of creativity,
collaboration, speed, innovation, excellence and fun while
continuously elevating the quality and caliber of the
- Work with new and potential
customers to understand their needs and the business value that
they will derive from using our platforms.
- Work closely with Sales, Sales
Operations, Marketing, Professional Services and Customer Service
groups to develop world-class sales tools, templates, product
collateral, white papers, customer case studies, and sales
- Read and follow the Underwriters
Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital
Performs other duties as
Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Business
Administration, Marketing, or related disciplines.
Degree (MBA or related) preferred plus generally seven years of
experience in highest value corporate product and/or account
management or eight years of experience in Marketing Business
Development, or Sales, or direct lighting product management
ability in key technical areas including: Data Mining and
Intelligence; Cross-Functional development of strong go-to-market
strategies, Product/Service Strategy and Market Orientation;
Managing Opportunity Pipelines, and managing through the product
executive level presentation skills are preferred along with a
detailed understanding of the applicable industry product lines and
UL has COVID-19
protocols and policies in place. Business related travel on behalf
of UL requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
