Job DescriptionBuyerZip Code: Evanston, IL 60201 - Location: North of Downtown ChicagoEmployment Type: Direct Hire - Workplace Type: On-siteSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Specialty manufacturing firm located along the Northshore has an immediate opening for an experienced Buyer responsible for sourcing both supplies and services to supplement their future growth initiatives. • Souring of assigned production and prototype materials including various electronic components, wire hardware, machined parts, die castings, stampings, injected molded parts, etc.
• Sourcing of assigned nonproduction supplies and services
• Creating purchasing orders daily
• Continual follow up as required for production items, non-production supplies and capital expenditures
• Manage supplier relationships including selection, contract negations and supplier performance evaluations
• Create and implement initiatives to improve supply chain performance metrics and customer satisfaction Buyer's Qualifications
  • 3+ years purchasing experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • CPIM or APICS certification preferred
