This position performs work under the direction of the Recreation Maintenance Team Lead. Work includes cleaning and maintenance on interior and exterior areas of various park and lakefront facilities from April - late October. Work includes cleaning restrooms, mopping, sweeping, trash removal, snow fence installation or removal, open and secures buildings, litter pick up, trash removal, recycling, stocking, program set ups and break downs, painting, and trailering of equipment. Staff may be asked to perform water testing at all the swimming beaches. Staff will typically be scheduled to work 40 hours/week and schedules may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.SalaryStarting at $12.50 /hr.RequirementsEssential Function(s) - Task Statements* Performs a variety of custodial duties including, but not limited to, cleaning equipment, restrooms, litter pick up, program set ups and break downs, and trash removal. * Inspects assigned park and recreation sites and equipment regularly regarding condition, safety, and degree of use; recommends more complex maintenance and repair if needed.* Drives a city vehicle to and from sites to transport supplies and materials* Drives a vehicle with a trailered boat.* Posts picnic notifications and prepare sites for scheduled activities.Physical Requirements Of Work* Ability to work primarily indoors and outdoor environmental conditions - no effective protection from the weather conditions or temperature changes. The employee performs tasks outdoors related to recreational programs, weather can be hot in the summer, etc., while in the fall and spring can be cool/cold. * Employee should have the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly, in addition to the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. * Have the ability to lift, reach handle, finger, kneel, bend, stand for long periods of time, talk, hear, feel, smell, climb, maintain balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, and see the nature of the object by the eye.PUBLIC CONTACTThe employee has regular and frequent contact with division and department employees and other City employees as well as regular contact with community residents and representatives; and members of the public and representatives of other agencies.Chosen candidates will be required to provide proof of licenses, certifications, and education required for this position.
